Are the Toronto Maple Leafs playoff bound?

Maple Leafs horrendous power play

Austin Matthews

Toronto Maple Leafs are in a do or die situation and on the brink of elimination from the plays offs in game 7. It looks like the Leafs will be missing Austin Matthews core person to make their power play

Maple leafs GM Bred Treliving had a task of looking for ways to booster their defensive needs for play-offs, and so John Klingberg was signed a one-year, $4.15 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs on July 1, 2023 but is now on a along term injured reserve list.

While defenceman Simon Benoit was signed to a one-year contract worth $775,000. has been a great signing by the GM Bred for the leafs. While Joel Edmundson and lya Lyubushkin were bought in bolster and control their back-end specifically their power play by clearing their own zone have been doing a steady job.

If the Toronto Maple Leafs are going to complete their comeback against the Boston Bruins in their own barn this Saturday, thier powerplay has to be more productive which has been horrendous this playoff against the Boston Bruins and with Austin Matthews sidelined does not bode well.

If the Toronto Maple Leafs are to complete their comeback and stun the Boston Bruins in their own barn this Saturday, it appears they’ll have do it without their core player Austin Matthews.

J Woll

Joseph Woll needs to be amazing against the Boston Bruins, who is coming off a near-shutout in Game 6 with sparkling .964 save percentage and 0.86 goals-against average in the series.

If Joseph Woll and the Maple Leafs are to complete their improbable comeback on Saturday, Joseph Woll has to be spectacular, their defence solid and power play and power kill needs to be great with no foolish penalties.

We will have to see if  Woll and the Maple Leafs can complete their improbable comeback on Saturday in Game 7.
